It was all over the red carpet at this year’s Golden Globes, and it’s tipped to be one of 2013′s hottest shades – while burgundy reigned supreme last year, now it’s the turn of a brighter shade of poppy red to take the limelight. There’s something about this colour that is instantly feel-good, and it’s this mood-boosting quality and high impact vibrancy that I love the most. Bright red is not a colour to wear if you don’t want attention – it’s eye-catching and glamorous when incorporated into your wardrobe, and even more sexy when tied in as a retro red lip (see the Chanel lipstick featured in my New Year Wishlist).

Thankyou! Yes, Jennifer Lawrence and Zooey Deschanel spring to mind for Golden Globe dresses in this shade that were stunning. Can be tricky to pull off, so I either think one red item that is the focus of the outfit (e.g. red dress) or just red lips / nails / bag, and use the colour to accessorize a more neutral look. xxx
